For over five months now, the Coronavirus pandemic has affected our lives. All around us, people are living with the fear of becoming ill or seeing loved ones hit by the virus. Needless to say, this year so far has been one of the hardest for our entire country.
Because of the various social restrictions put into place for our security and safety, many of us have ended up in a somewhat upsetting space marked by loneliness, uncertainty, and sadness. For social beings like us, it has become increasingly hard to feel a sense of normalcy when deprived of one of the most important things contributing to our happiness: our community.
Community is about more than living together in a shared space or environment. It is more than about being neighbors or old friends. A community is made up of those we know we can rely on when in need. It is the people who make us smile, laugh, and feel accepted. Our community consists of the ones we turn to when things get rough when we feel lost, or when we simply want to savor a shared moment of joy and intimacy.
And while a consequence of the virus is that we currently can't live the way we once did, there are still opportunities for us to come together and enjoy some quality time.
One such event, Bingo On The Patio, is sponsored by Lapham Law in partnership with Reunion Coffee House. This event was created as a way for both companies to show how much they value their customers' happiness and well-being. It continues to be a way to build community spirit and express gratitude for all the neighborhood support.
Lapham Law, a Denver law firm that is here to provide you with any legal support you might need, thought of a way to help you and your family outside of the legal realm. The firm might have years of experience in various domains such as hit and run auto accidents, wrongful death, property damage, and personal injury cases. Still, their community love does not end there. For them, they are not just Denver accident attorneys or car accident lawyers in Colorado; they are community members who care for their peers.
Reunion Coffee House is a coffee shop based in Commerce City, Co and operated by Community Uplift Partnership (CUP). The coffee house offers a variety of freshly brewed drinks, including some from local companies like Boyer's Coffee. CUP is a local non-profit working to break the cycle of poverty through education and relationships. Their goal is to provide barista apprentices job skills in a hands-on mentoring environment to young adults. After the year-long apprenticeship program these students are ready for the job market. For the Reunion Coffee House, what matters most is the happiness of their customers and staff and building a sense of community. In fact, every sip of their coffee "supports paid hands-on job training and career preparedness courses for youth" in the community. The company does indeed take pride in serving its community with "a great place to connect and get away.”
The two companies decided to work together and organize an event that is both safe and fun. Bingo, a game that has existed in various forms since the 1500s, has always been praised for its social engagement and community interest. Its many variations can be played by anyone who is interested in spending fun, quality time with their community members.
Bingo On The Patio takes place every Thursday at 1 PM at the Reunion Coffee House. The game is free, lasts an hour, and fun prizes are provided for the winners. So if you are competitive but also like to have fun, this is the right game for you.
You will have the opportunity to spend time with people and enjoy the many benefits of playing Bingo.
